The Ocean and Climatic Research Institute (OACRI) is proud to announce its expansion into Bangladesh through a strategic partnership with The Earth – BIJOYEE. This collaboration marks a significant step in advancing climate resilience, ocean conservation, and sustainable development in the region.

Bangladesh, a nation highly vulnerable to climate change, faces increasing risks from sea level rise, coastal erosion, extreme weather events, and biodiversity loss. Recognizing the urgency of action, OACRI and The Earth – BIJOYEE are joining forces to drive scientific research, policy engagement, and community-based climate adaptation strategies.

A Commitment to Capacity Building and CPD-Accredited Training

As part of our commitment to empowering communities and professionals in climate science, OACRI will soon be launching free CPD-accredited training programs and courses in climate resilience, oceanography, and disaster risk reduction. These courses will be designed to equip students, researchers, policymakers, and environmental practitioners with the knowledge and skills needed to tackle climate challenges effectively.

With CPD (Continuing Professional Development) accreditation, our programs will provide internationally recognized certifications, ensuring that participants gain industry-standard expertise while contributing to climate action on a global scale.

Why Bangladesh?

Bangladesh is at the forefront of the climate crisis, experiencing frequent cyclones, rising temperatures, and increasing salinity in freshwater resources. The country’s leadership in community-driven adaptation and nature-based solutions makes it a crucial hub for climate and ocean research. By expanding to Bangladesh, OACRI aims to:

Support scientific research on oceanic and climatic systems affecting South Asia.

Enhance capacity building through accredited training and educational resources.

Foster collaboration between researchers, policymakers, and grassroots organizations.

Develop innovative early warning systems and climate adaptation frameworks.

A Future of Collaboration and Impact

This expansion marks just the beginning of OACRI’s growing presence in Asia and the Pacific. Our collaboration with The Earth – BIJOYEE will enable us to work closely with local and international stakeholders, ensuring evidence-based, community-led approaches to climate adaptation and ocean sustainability.

We invite government agencies, research institutions, NGOs, and the private sector to collaborate with us in building a climate-resilient Bangladesh. Through shared expertise and innovation, we can drive meaningful change for ocean conservation, disaster risk management, and climate justice.
